Profitability Through Efficient Recycling: How Motion Conveyance Solutions Can Help

August 26, 2024

In an era where sustainability is not just a choice but a necessity, the recycling industry stands at the forefront of environmental protection. According to estimates by the Environmental Protection Agency, a staggering 75% of the waste generated in the United States is recyclable. However, only about 30% of this potential is realized, with the rest ending up in landfills. This represents a significant opportunity for growth in the recycling sector, but facilities must operate efficiently and cost-effectively to capitalize on it.

The Growing Demand for Recycling Infrastructure

As municipalities across the country seek to enhance their recycling programs and reduce the burden on landfills, investments in recycling infrastructure are becoming more critical. For recycling initiatives to succeed, the operations within these facilities must be as efficient and cost-effective as possible. This is where the right equipment and components become crucial.

The Importance of Efficiency in Recycling Operations

Recycling facilities, often operating under tight margins, rely on equipment that can withstand the harsh conditions of the recycling environment. The efficient movement of materials through these systems is essential to meet the ever-increasing expectations for recovery rates. Therefore, choosing the right components for these systems is not just important—it's critical.

Given the diverse mix of materials processed at recycling facilities and the increasing complexity of modern sorting equipment, the needs of these systems can vary widely. Some systems may require standard products for sorting lines, while others need highly customized solutions, such as eddy currents and magnetic separators. The common denominator in all these systems is the need for durability, efficiency and reliability.
